Switchhook Flash lets you place a call on Consultation Hold and return to dial tone so that you can invoke station features. Unlike alternative signaling methods (see Recall and Ground Button), Switchhook Flash does not require the use of a third wire or second pair.
Switchhook Flash and Calibrated Flash are mutually exclusive.
Enter the following parameters:
Flash Type: Normal
Low Flash Timer: value
High Flash Timer: greater than or equal to the low flash timer
Ground Button: no
2500 model telephones
To generate a Switchhook Flash during a call:
Flash the switchhook.
To return to the held party when listening to busy, reorder, or ringback tone:
Flash the switchhook.
Dial the Call Hold Retrieve feature access code.
NOTE: If you generate a flash while listening to ringback tone, you will release the ringing party.
